Maryland

Happy Hills RV Park – Hancock, MD – nice campground near the Antietam National Battlefield and Harpers Ferry National Historic Park  


New Jersey

New York

Adirondack 1000 Islands Camping – Natural Bridge, NY – nice campground on the eastern side of the large statewide Adirondack Park.

Ausable River Campsite – Keeseville, NY – near Lake Placid, Plattsburg, and breathtaking Ausable Chasm.

Niagara Hartland RV Resort – Gasport, NY – a very affordable campground near Niagara Falls, Fort Niagara and the Erie Canal


Pensylvania

French Creek State Park – Elverson, PA – nice Pennsylvania state park near Hopewell Furnace Historic Site, Philadelphia and Valley Forge National Historical Park

Hershey Thousand Trails – Lebanon, PA – membership campground near Gettysburg National Military Park, the Hershey Chocolate factory, and the Pennsylvania Amish area.

Silver Valley Campsites – Saylorsburg, PA – off the beaten path, but very nice campground worth the visit


Virginia

Natural Tunnel State Park – Virginia state park with a large naturally formed tunnel and near Cumberland Gap National Historical Park

Pohick Bay Regional Park – Lorton, VA – Virginia regional campground that has lovely, shaded campsites near Washington DC

Thousand Trails – Gloucester, VA – a membership campground near Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, Virginia

Breaks Interstate Park - co-op state park of Kentucky and Virginia - our second visit, but we will not likely camp there again because sites and internal roads are tight.  


West Virginia

Robert W Craig COE Campground – Elk Garden, WV – hard to get to campground in the mountains of West Virginia with nice hiking trails, a large dam, and interesting geology.
